2025 Australian Masters Games

Karate and Kobudo at the 20th Australian Masters Games 2025

Exciting news for traditional martial artists! The Australasian Federation of Traditional Karate and Kobudo (AFTK) is proud to announce that Karate and Kobudo will be featured for the first time in the Australian Masters Games (AMG) in 2025. This historic event will take place on 25 October 2025 in Canberra, as part of the milestone 20th Edition of the Australian Masters Games, running from 18-25 October 2025.
The Australian Masters Games, created by the Confederation of Australian Sport in 1987, is a week-long festival of sport that brings together athletes from across Australia and around the world. It celebrates competition, camaraderie, and the joy of sport in an exciting and inclusive environment. Competition Details
This event is open to competitors aged 30+ and will include divisions for both Traditional Karate and Kobudo, with categories in: • Traditional Karate Kata & Kumite• Traditional Kobudo Kata• Various divisions based on age and experience Why Participate?
For years, practitioners have called for a traditional Karate and Kobudo competition at a national level—this is your chance! The AMG provides a unique opportunity to:
• Showcase your skills on a national stage.• Compete in an environment that values tradition, respect, and sportsmanship.• Help ensure Karate and Kobudo remain part of major multi-sport events in the future.
To make this event a success, we need all member dojo to assist in spreading the word. A support pack has been prepared to help dojo leaders communicate the details to their members. More Information & Registration
